As a Bike Messenger I deal with a lot of pissed off drivers on a day to day basis. I try to be courteous as much as I can on the road but when you have a bag full of rushes, more trips coming in and a pissed off dispatcher on the other end you tend to throw all of your good intentions aside.

With all that said there are some cases where it's best to be prepared, such as last week. When a motorist called me a "Fairy fucking pansy bike riding faggot" for merely existing, when I returned the favor with the finger he swerved into me and barely missed me, and of course at the next red light got out of his car and was attempting to chase me, by which point I was long gone. Those are the cases where i thank companies like Competative cycles for delivering such a product to the cycling community.

It's president elect Barack Obama's inauguration tomorrow, and if you didn't know that where the hell have you been in the past few months? Needless to say, I know this man faces enormous obstacles and has even larger expectations from the entire world, but he deserves the respect and admiration given to him for overcoming many obstacles to get to the point he is today.

These track grips, brought to you by Soma, are the shit. I picked a pair up over the weekend and today was my first day working with them. I am truly impressed, I've never been a fan of big fat grips like Oury's , and these are quite the opposite and exactly what i've been looking for. Get Em!

Safety First

Tonight was the first time I've been out for a night ride in a while, with the warm january Chinook rolling in it was actually decent riding weather. I recently acquired some KNOG frog lights and they are a blessing. Unlike like your ordinary clunky bike lights, the sleek compact design of these lights set you apart from your average commuter with 300 bulky lights plastered all over them. And to top it off they're bright as hell, so you can be pretty certain that most motorists will see you.
